Acuvue Oasys are one of the most innovative contact lens ranges manufactured by Johnson & Johnson. This range of lenses is designed to provide your eyes with as much hydration as possible to make your wearing experience hygienic and comfortable. If you tend to get dry eyes when wearing your contact lenses, then Acuvue Oasys could be the lenses for you.

These contacts can also relieve your eyes if you spend a lot of time in dry environments, such as a heated or air-conditioned workplace. Additionally, they block more than 95% of UV-A rays and 99% of UV-B rays; particularly beneficial if you spend a lot of time outdoors.

The Acuvue Oasys lens range is available in two different contact lens modalities, daily and fortnightly, meaning no matter your lifestyle there will be a suitable contact lens within the Acuvue Oasys lens family.

Acuvue Oasys 1 Day with HydraLuxe

Acuvue Oasys 1 Day are daily disposable contact lenses which must be discarded and replaced with a fresh pair after every use making them suitable for those who favour convenience and are concerned about hygiene.

Acuvue Oasys 1 Day is manufactured from a highly breathable material called Senofilcon A; a silicone hydrogel that allows an ideal amount of oxygen to reach your eyes to ensure long-lasting comfort. Acuvue Oasys Daily is available in packs of 30 or 90.

Acuvue Oasys 1 Day uses a technology called HydraLuxe produced by Johnson & Johnson. HydraLuxe blends tear-like water molecules with the silicone hydrogel lens which integrates with your tear film. The result is improved moisture retention, reduced tiredness and a more natural fit.

Acuvue Oasys 1 Day for Astigmatism is available for those with Astigmatism. As well as HydraLuxe Technology, Acuvue Oasys Dailies for Astigmatism uses and Eyelid Stabilised Design which ensures that the orientation of the lenses is correct and that they stabilise themselves quickly. Blinking helps to keep them in place, which guarantees crisp & clear vision regardless of your head motion.

Acuvue Oasys With Hydraclear Plus

Acuvue Oasys are two weekly disposable lenses that must be removed, cleaned, and stored overnight. They must be disposed of and replaced each fortnight. However, if approved by your optician these lenses can be used as extended wear lenses and be worn for 6 nights and 7 days. Please consult your optician for their direction and recommendation.

Like its daily option, Acuvue Oasys is made from Senofilcon A meaning this lens is highly breathable and lets plenty of oxygen reach your eyes. This makes your wearing experience comfortable and healthy and keeps your eyes bright.

Acuvue Oasys uses Hydraclear Plus Technology which is an exclusive wetting agent. Hydraclear Plus mimics the eyes tear film to keep them hydrated and moist and reduces dryness. For additional comfort, it also helps stabilise the tear film.  Acuvue Oasys also uses an Eye-Inspired Design that is a combination of technologies that helps improve your vision and the wearing experience.

Acuvue Oasys is available for those with Astigmatism and with Presbyopia. Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism uses Accelerated Stabilised Design technology (ASD) which is a unique technology for toric lenses that enables lens stability within 60 seconds of insertion and keeps the lens stable while moving. Acuvue Oasys for Presbyopia uses a Zonal Aspheric Multifocal Design which helps promote clear and balanced vision. Also, it provides a smooth transition across different viewing distances.

Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day

Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day are daily contact lenses that are designed with our increasingly digitally dependent lifestyles in mind by using OptiBlue Light Filter and TearStable technology.

Thanks to OptiBlue Filter, the Acuvue Oasys Max lenses can filter out 60% of blue-violet light, which decrease light scatter & reduces the harmful effects of bright lights, which improves visual clarity in both bright and low light conditions.

The TearStable Technology distributes the wetness of the lens evenly throughout the lens and surface to maximise the moisture. By doing this, the lens reduces the rate of evaporation by approximately twice as much as lenses of a comparable type.

Acuvue Oasys Max contact lenses are available as a multifocal option (Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day Multifocal). The Acuvue Oasys Max 1 Day Multifocal lenses use a technology called Pupil Optimized Design which helps provide crisp vision at all distances.

What is the difference between Acuvue Oasys and Moist which is better?

Firstly, the lenses; are made from different materials. Acuvue Moist is a hydrogel lens meaning the lens will have a high water content of 58%. Compared to Acuvue Oasys, a silicone hydrogel lens with a water content of 38%. However, the silicone hydrogel material the Oasys lenses use is highly breathable, which improves comfort and keeps your eyes healthy.

Next, both lens families use different wetting technologies to hydrate the eyes. As mentioned previously, Oasys lenses use HydraLuxe technology to stabilise the tear film and prevent it from drying out. Moist lenses use Lacreon technology, which embeds an ingredient that retains water into the lens that permanently retains moisture to keep your eyes hydrated.

Therefore, neither contact lens is better than the other; it all depends on your prescription and whatever is more suitable for your eyes.
