How to enter

To enter the competition, post the photograph to the Lenstore Facebook wall, including a comment with the hashtag #eyesores and the name of your chosen charity. Through the use of the hashtag, you are formally accepting the following terms and conditions.

Dates, deadlines and prize

The competition will run from 1st April 2014 to 30th April 2014. The closing date for entries is 30th April at 23:59.

Each entry posted on the Lenstore Facebook page will qualify for judgement by a panel appointed by Lenstore. Entries will be judged on the basis of originality, visually appealing nature, etc. The panel’s decision is final.

One winner from each category will be announced on the Lenstore Facebook page on 20th May 2014.

The £2,000 prize money fund will be split between the five winners. £400 will be paid directly to each of the five winners’ charity of choice by Lenstore.

General terms and conditions

Entrants must be aged 16+ or will be disqualified upon entry.

The competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland, with the exclusion of Lenstore employees, their families or anyone else associated with this competition.

All entrants to the competition agree to follow the Facebook Terms of Service. By entering this competition, each participant acknowledges that this promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.

All entries may not be in violation of any law.

Entrants are permitted to submit as many entries as they choose.

All images submitted must be the original work of the individual submitting and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other competition.

It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure any and all subjects of the photograph have been taken with permission and do not infringe any copyright of third party laws.

Submitted photographs must correspond with the five chosen categories stated in the competition blog post: Fly Tipping, Electricity Pylons, Derelict Buildings, Graffiti, and Litter.

All photographs must be void of personal identification, including but not limited to car number plates and identification cards. Any participants found submitting entries with identifying information will be disqualified.

All photographs should not include any company or business logos, unless permission is specifically given by the relevant company or business.

The use of photo editing filters and software, e.g. Photoshop or smart phone applications, is permitted.

All photographs must be void of any material that may be deemed offensive.

Incomplete or illegible copies of images will be deemed void.

The hashtag must be spelt correctly or the entry may be disqualified.

All submitted images can be used for promotional activity or in any way that Lenstore deems appropriate.

By submitting any and all photographs to the competition, Lenstore reserves the right to use the photographs in future releases relating to this competition and charitable causes. These images will not be sold for commercial gain or to a commercial body – they may be used for further promotion of this initiative and for further fundraising.

Lenstore may ask participants to participate in promotional activity.
