If I wear contact lenses, why keep my glasses?

If you wear your contact lenses full time you will need to have a pair of up to date prescription glasses.

Typically contact lens wearers wear their lenses for 12 – 16 hours a day. If you are wearing your lenses 6 – 7 days a week it is advisable to take a break for a day or two and revert to your glasses.

Also, whilst wearing contact lenses the amount of oxygen that reaches your eye is restricted and at times you may experience grittiness and/or your discomfort. If you do experience this we advise to check with your optician about changing your lens type or administrating comfort drops.

You are more prone to infections if you wear your lenses for long periods of times. If you contract an eye infection you will not be able to wear lenses.
