Are there any contact lens eye drops suitable for allergies?

Do you have any eye drops suitable for use with contact lenses that soothe itchy eyes caused by allergies?

Optician’s answer

If you have an eye problem or discomfort you should stop wearing your contact lenses straight away and arrange an appointment with your optician to check the health of your eyes.

Wearing contact lenses can sometimes aggravate an allergic reaction and it is usually best to give your eyes a break from lens wear to help prevent any ongoing problems.

Most allergy eye drops will advise you to keep your contact lenses out for a short while before resuming wear again. This will depend on the brand supplied by your doctor or pharmacist and can vary from 15 minutes to 4 hours. Some brands will advise ceasing contact lens wear altogether.
